Terms of Service
Askwho Casts Pro · Last updated
Askwho Casts Pro ("the service", "we") turns the web articles, books and documents you choose into produced audio episodes, delivered to a private podcast feed. The service is operated from the United Kingdom. By creating an account or subscribing you agree to these terms.
1. The service
You paste a link to an article, or upload a book or document; we produce a spoken audio edition of it using AI-generated voices and deliver it to a private RSS feed only you hold the address to. Audio is machine-produced: quality is high but not perfect, and pronunciation or reading errors can occur.
2. Accounts
You sign in with Google or an email link. You're responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, and for keeping your private feed address private — anyone with the address can listen. You can rotate the address in the app at any time.
3. Subscriptions and credits
- Creating episodes beyond any free offer requires an active monthly subscription, billed through Stripe. Each tier grants a monthly allowance of credits; one credit is roughly one minute of finished audio.
- Before each episode you see its exact credit price and approve it — you're charged the estimate, never more. If a generation fails, its credits are automatically returned.
- Unused credits roll over and expire three calendar months after they were granted. Top-up credit packs are available to subscribers and follow the same three-month rule.
- You can cancel any time; your subscription runs to the end of the paid period. After it lapses you can no longer generate new episodes, but your feed keeps playing everything you've already made.
- Credits have no cash value and aren't transferable.
- October 2026 offer: an account with a paid subscription during October 2026 receives 300 extra credits, once. They are spent before your other credits and expire at the end of 31 October 2026 (UK time). The offer is limited to one per person and one per payment card, however many accounts are opened; complimentary subscriptions and payments of $0 don't qualify. If the payment that earned the offer is refunded or disputed, any of its credits still unspent are removed. Like all credits, offer credits have no cash value. We may withhold or remove offer credits obtained through multiple accounts or other abuse of the offer.
4. Your content and acceptable use
- The service is for personal listening. Submit only content you have the right to access, and use the resulting audio for your own private use — don't republish, rebroadcast, or redistribute episodes or your feed.
- Articles are converted as-is on your instruction; you're responsible for what you choose to submit.
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful, or attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer it.
5. Books and documents you upload
- Upload only something you have the right to turn into audio for yourself: your own writing, a work in the public domain where you live, or a copy you own that has no copy protection. Don't upload files with DRM or other copy protection, or files it was removed from; we'll refuse them. You confirm this each time you upload.
- The audio made from your upload is for your own private listening. Don't share its feed, files or downloads, don't play them in public, and don't sell or publish them. Each book's feed address is personal: you can replace it at any time, and we may replace it if it's being shared.
- Reviewing an upload's chapters and hearing its cast are free. Making the audiobook costs 1.25 credits a minute of finished audio for the chapters you choose, shown before you make it and charged once. If a chapter can't be made, its share of the credits is returned.
- We keep your uploaded file only as long as we need it to make and correct your audiobook, and delete it 30 days after the audiobook is finished (or 30 days after it's read, if you make nothing from it). We keep the audiobook, and the text and cast it was made from, until you remove the upload or delete your account. We never share one person's upload, or anything made from it, with anyone else.
- If you believe something made with the service infringes your copyright, email hello@askwhocasts.com with your contact details, the work you say is infringed, what you say infringes it, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you own the rights or may act for the owner, with your name as a signature. We act on valid notices promptly, tell the uploader why, and let them respond. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly upload material they don't have the right to use.
6. Availability and changes
We aim for the service to be reliable, but it's provided "as is" without warranties; we may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we ever discontinue the service entirely we'll give reasonable notice and refund any unused subscription time.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.
8. Ending an account
You can stop using the service at any time, and delete your account and its data yourself from Settings, or by asking us (see the privacy policy). Deleting your account ends your subscription at once, without a refund for the rest of the period; if you subscribed in the last 14 days and want a cooling-off refund, email us before you delete (see refunds). We may suspend accounts that break these terms, with a refund of unused subscription time unless the breach is serious.
9. Askwho Casts the Classics
Buying a Classic. When you buy an Askwho Casts the Classics audiobook, you get a personal licence to listen to it in Askwho Casts Pro and to download it as an audiobook file, for as long as you like. It's for your own listening: you may not share, sell, upload, broadcast or otherwise distribute it. Each download carries your order number, so a shared copy can be traced to the order it came from.
Streaming with a subscription. A subscription lets you stream every Classic in the app while it's active. It doesn't include downloads, and streaming stops when the subscription ends. Books you bought stay yours.
Downloads. Download links are tied to your account and expire after a few minutes. Each book can be downloaded a few times a day.
Your right to cancel. If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. When you buy a Classic you ask us to give you access straight away, and you agree that you lose that right once you play it beyond the free sample or download it. Until then, email us within 14 days for a full refund (see refunds).
Refunds and chargebacks. If a purchase is refunded or disputed, the book leaves your library and its downloads stop working.
How they're made. Each Classic is handmade: a bespoke production on a premium voice model, with original music and sound design. They aren't produced by Askwho Casts Pro's automatic process. The novels' texts are in the public domain.
10. The shop: Terminal Christmas
These terms cover the knitted jumpers (sweaters) sold at askwhocasts.com/shop. You don't need an account to buy one.
Who you're buying from. Askwho Casts, 60 Anchor Crescent, Hockley, Birmingham B18 5SL, United Kingdom. Each jumper is knitted to order and posted to you by our production partner, Printful, from its knitting facility in China. Questions about an order: hello@askwhocasts.com, quoting your order number (AWC-…). Please email rather than write: it's much quicker.
Ordering and prices. Prices are shown in pounds for delivery to the United Kingdom and in dollars for delivery to the United States. They include delivery and any taxes and import charges: there's nothing more to pay when it arrives. Your order is accepted when payment is taken and we send its confirmation. If we can't make an order (for example, the yarn runs out), we'll tell you and refund it in full.
Delivery. We deliver to the UK and the US only. Knitting takes 7 to 14 days and delivery up to two weeks more; we email tracking when it's posted. Each Christmas the shop closes for orders on the date shown on its pages, so that orders arrive in time. If yours hasn't arrived within 30 days of ordering, tell us and we'll chase it, replace it or refund it.
Changing your mind. If you're a consumer in the UK you have 14 days from delivery to cancel, without giving a reason; we offer the same to buyers in the US. Email us within that time, then send it back unworn and unwashed within 14 days to the address above. You pay for the return postage. We refund the price, including the original delivery, within 14 days of receiving it back. Choosing a size from the range doesn't make a jumper "personalised", so this right applies to every jumper we sell. Please check the size guide before ordering: each is knitted to order, so a wrong size can only be returned, not swapped.
If something's wrong. If a jumper arrives damaged, faulty or knitted differently from the one you ordered, email us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we'll replace it or refund you in full; you don't need to send it back. This doesn't affect your legal rights, which for UK consumers include the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
The knit. 55% cotton, 45% polyester. Pictures show a computer-made mockup and our own drawing of the chart; colours on screen and the real yarn can differ a little, and knitted measurements can vary by up to 2.5 cm (1 in). Wash at 30–40°C; it may shrink slightly the first time.
11. The legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we update them materially we'll note it here and, for significant changes, email account holders. Questions: hello@askwhocasts.com.
